went for a drive today in my pulsar ,driving up from the beach doing around twenty mph when a almera hits me on the passenger side.quater panel, passener door center pillar all fairly bad.He was pulling out of a car park and forgot to luck or even stop for that matter.
I know he has insurance and he accepted liability, but with this cost of fixing this, could they riot of my car and end up with peanuts for a 94 gtir.any advice

sorry fella but its a definate write off, all you can do is try buy it back off the insurance company and repair it.
will more than likely be a cat c if its written off as cat b then you wont be able to buy the car back

Speak to his insurers, you may be given the option of taking a cash settlement and you can deal with the repairs on your own, when my R was attacked by the co-op lorry I made sure to them that I would not accept having the car written off, they sent me a cheque for the amount to repair, no write off!, do have to declare this to your insurers unfortunately though!

Your damage sounds much worth but give it a try!

to get your best price you will probally have to do quite a bit of leg work.
you need to find adverts of cars for sale of a similar spec and year, then print them off and send them to the insurance company to prove what the going price is.
they may still turn round and offer you peanuts but keep trying and it might payoff.

sorry to hear this. not wanting to put you on a downer but that is the problem with insurance they do not see he love and care and money you put in they work off book price. in your favour he has admitted fault but if his insurance are a good company they will not want to pay out more than they realy have to

insurance companys are now not righting off as many cars as they once were, see if you can get a few garages to give you quotes on how much it would be to repair it

When mine was stolen, I know its different, but it was an insurance claim none the less!
Total loss via theft or accident, the payout is all the same.

Anyways, I pulled adverts off the internet starting at £3.5k and going upto £5k printed them and sent them to the guy dealing with my claim.
They paid me £3.5k what I wanted.
There's a few nice standard pulsars for sale at the moment, on the forums and ebay. Get them printed off and only send the ones in that are the price you think its worth and above ;)

Phone your insurance up and pester them every other day.. remember your insurance is acting for you, they don't have to pay anything out, its the other guys insurance that is.
So get your insurance company to state/demand the higher price of replacement at the begining.
They have to give you the total cost of replacement even if the book price is lower than what is on the market.
If you find they are dragging their feet, threaten with legal acction! Even employ a solicitor to write a letter of intent of court action, will cost you £30ish. But threat of court will get them moving. The courts will favour you as you are the inocent party ;)

After thought...

Pop on pistonheads forums, there's loads of good advice on there about insurance claims!
A lot of solicitors are members on there, and they give free advice on the forums ;)
Do a search on there to start with tho, you will prob find its been coverd already.
