if you spent money in the right areas these car can be made to handle very well,

rather than spending over 10k on a clitoris car, get your gtir set up properly.
lol, I suppose your right. Ive never spent a penny on handling. Im one of those people who grudges spending if it doesnt make horsepower. I guess its prob more to do with me feeling a little inadequate when im driving it.

I have naff all power and I run standard boost, but where it lacks in the power it makes up in handling and braking.

Much more of a kick out manoeuvring people than just dragging them.

No skill required in a straight line :thumb:

I thought you just kept it to give you something to do on the weekends... like putting the engine back together.

I keep mine because it's not worth selling after what has been spent on it:doh:
You only keep it because you can't sell it with the door and ignition looking like that. :der:

I hope it's not too soon for jokes.

my insurance runs out in less than 2 weeks and although ill never sell it, it will break my heart not to drive it!its such a raw drive.no driver aids which makes it so much fun compared to evos and scoobs!the lines do look a bit dated but old skool is cool and the bonnet vent is the muts nuts! people underestimate it which adds to the cars aura.and with the right mods, its the best bang for your buck available!

That does look awesome Ro..I mean John.It doesn't sit very well on those tyres though.Keep the old school wheels but get some tyres that aren't from a London bus.

Unfortunatly I can't fit low profile tyres unless I get bigger wheels, Anyway I kind of like the balloon tyres after all the car is nearly 40 years old, I do plan on fitting some slightly bigger wheels maybe 16" when I can find some with the right off set and old skool look, Of cause that is also dependent of me being able to afford another £1000 set of wheels, Because of the arches I will need custom wheels, At the moment I'm using 35mm spacers to get them to sit right in the arch.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. still got mine cus nothin has gone wrong yet. runnin 1.6 bar just to see what happens on a standard map. downgraded the feul pump last week to save fuel and whipped them dirty big injectors out and had a drink off e bay. my mate says its dettin at top revs so i whipped the knock sensor out to save some money. my car runs best if i take the bleed valve off and fool the actuator to atmosphere. hope this helps steve.
