raising profile of our heaps

They are such an overlooked car its almost annoying.

I must be the only one on here that finds that a good thing.

How many Evos, Subarus Cossies etc do you hear of being stolen across the forums. Not so many Gtirs in comparison, but that could all change when people realise your average Gtir could blow most of the other cars into the weeds.

Sure I agree with that Fast Guy... but still being the under dog is fine, if people know what your dog is...

Does that make any sense at all??? LOL

At the end of the day, people that are in the know understand what the car is about and its speed; whether that’s impreza, evo or saxo drivers.

The ones that don’t can point and laugh and mock us in our rusty sunny sheds. Importantly we know what they can do, we keep our anonymity or become misrepresented as another 1.4LX Sunny ;-)

a bloke in a bmw tried flying past me and i left him standing haha i pulled into the garage and he followed and he thought mine was a 1.4 haha

Am I the only one that like driving an under dog. It make the victories that much sweeter!

I love no one knowing what my car is, for me its all part of the appeal over a scooby or evo.
same as that i love them not knowing what these cars are capeable of, but it would be nice to see a few more in magazines etc

just been onto total nissan again and were getting a full write up in the july / august issue8) we could have gone in may/june issue but were expanding things a little so not ready yet, plus im on holiday in a weeks time:-D.

they have told us that there will be more write ups on gtir's in virtually every issue from now on but we'll wait and see if that happens or not.

on another note though, ive recently noticed that prices of cars are starting to rise again, i do honestly think that they have reached rock bottom and will now go steadily upwards as the numbers have diminished significantly over the last few years, so that has to be good news for all who own a descent one i guess!

What if you own a rust bucket? Bad news for me then... the only saving grace is that are less and less KJ7s on the road all the time, but as Geoff says; all the Ivory ones seem to be rust buckets.

I think Total Nissan is a good choice for us; other Nissan owners can recognise the "Baby Godzilla" and might be interested in what we're doing. The chavs who have black corsas with 3" exhausts and fake turbo noises will never bother reading the magazine... and hopefully it will stay that way.
Even the Total Impreza and Total Evolution readers will be unlikely to pick-up the magazine... which means we get the drop on them because they don't know anything about the cars (in theory anyway).

I don't think we're big enough, or maybe not vocal enough for Banzai et al to take much notice of us... there aren't many owners with the JDM craziness that they seem to favour. Maybe the GTi-R just isn't new and shiny enough for them... they can't link us to some hot product that's just come on the market which they can promote.

well were in the next mag along with all the centenary gtir stuff:thumbsup:

there doing an editorial on us and weve also got a half page ad in the next few issues aswell.

in the editorial ive tried to bump the gtir as much as possible (as said only people who are nissan mad will buy it anyway)
im just trying to raise the profile of the car as much as possible whether this will increase s/h prices or not remains to be seen but it certainly will do no harm.
if cosworths sell for 13k+ then they are not worth 10k more than an R and im sure many would appreciate the rising price of their cars if my cunning plan works:lol:

this is also another reason for the free t shirts, in order to raise profile of car. obviously its good business for us too i would be lying if i made out different, but the more people know about the cars then the greater its future and value will be....who knows in a couple years or so it may start to command 5 figure sums such as its ford counterparts

also the number being broken has now decreased this will also have a knock on with price inflation on the cars that are left.
we shall see:-D

big up the R well done bob. like you say its time something happened seen to many of these cars selling for £2000 or less yes some are probably broken rust buckets but what about people who have good clean cars with thousands spent on them rare parts etc etc and they struggle to sell them for £4000 i payed that for a near standard one just under 4 year ago prices are rock bottom

Good work on the article, the ammount of people who ask me what mine is, is astonishing. Hopefully a bit of a feature will make people more aware of what a special car the R is. I was cleaning mine on my drive yesterday and a kid approached and asked where I got the bonnet vent from, I'm assuming he fancied something the same on his saxo. When I told him it was standard, what the car was and how much they cost he was shocked, I'm hoping he had a look at some on pistonheads.
