Hi All,

I am organising an entry for TOTB this year.

So far the list is -

1. Mad4it
2. Craig (DDAutosports)
3. AWD Monster
4. STU666V
5. Katemc

Please add your name to the list if interested.

I am also building a mini site at www.teamgtir.co.uk.

I am awaiting details from TOTB staff and will post as soon as I know more.

If you have any questions or suggestions then please ask.

It was on the modifiers site, and you never go there Andy. - There's a lot more interest this year, and I may have accidentally suggested "Team GTi-R" and that they could qualify themselves for entry like that.

Did you want to join them?

Yeah I don't bother going on there often!

What's the premise for the event, full on drag cars, handling focus or both?

Hi, I've never done anything like this before but I'd love to be there but don't know if I'd be competitive. I could probably do 12.5 second passes (with practice) and I guess my top end would be about 150 mph, I'm not sure if thats good enough. i'd love to see the R's do well so won't be offended if I don't cut the mustard :p.

Ten Of The Best is the same as every year isn't it? Or do you mean what is "Team GTi-R" focussing on this year?

I'd hope that at least a couple will get onto the handling circuit, especially if Craig's car is doing Time Attack. - I'd love to see the 1/4 mile (and top speed) start properly, instead of whenever people felt like it.

This is supposed to be the 10 best cars of each type in the country. I think 12.4 was a qualifying time a couple of years ago. I'd say you really need to be running mid 11s and quicker to even look semi respectable and even then that is noway competetive in the 4wd section, where cars can be running 9s, maybe quicker and 200mph+ over the mile.

FWD cars can run 10s and we struggle to do that.

Go along for a good day out, have a thrash and do some personal bests, but don't go with the intention of being competetive as to put it bluntly we're not.

Craig, you ran 10s last year, did that score any points?

No but Chris in the AWD GTiR came second in the Pro Class

I think if we pull a number of cars into the handling section, that's our best bet to win points.

That's where its more competitive (realistic) and we might be able to score some points :thumb:

Until we sort out the gearbox we'll not get close to the Scoob's, Evo's and Skylines with drag racing.

We need 2 types of R's as we'll never see anywhere near top speed.

Handling - A well set up 400BHP R should do well I reckon (Obviously with someone who knows how to use it - I'd be useless!)

1/4 Mile - Seems low 10's are on the cards which is respectable I think.

the gtir wont touch the evos round the track or the subarus come to think of it
i know of one of the evos running extec coilovers at 4k a corner thats the sort of level they are at and thats a non tuner runner
ive run 2 years at totb its like a very busy rwyb in most ways with the amount of people fighting to get on the drag strip but a good day and something you wont get to do very often

i mayyyyy have a car semi capable of competing if we havent got enough people i can fill a space if all goes to plan

I've got a special four-speed box for sale; it's only done about a 100 miles since it was built....

(Sorry guys, I couldn't resist the temptation - nothing you can do about it now!)
