That's quite a bit of power for something that's not AWD... how does it handle?
Sounds like an impressive spec, and I'm always interested when someone picks something other than an EVO or a Scooby when they move on from an R.

it drives really well tbh one boost in 1st,2nd,and a bit in 3rd it has traction problems but real fun... its only running 272bhp going for 300+ soon but exhaust was holding the power back!!!

i had a evo after my R but it was shit and skint me really.. this little civic would of eaten my old evo and it was running 390bhp.... do a search on youtube for civic d16 turbos and you will see the power they produce mate...

i still miss my old pulsar though i will have another one day

very nice indeed mate, my cousin is very into honda's build a turbo coupe like yours but no were near the engine spec, uses crome for management, stupid power from them :D

yeah mines running crome gold managment its good to say its just a chipped ecu all the functions ect i also running 2step launch on mine.... yeah power is crazy from such a small car and engine just needing a ATB in the box to put power down better

the evo,s are nice but they very £££££ to run ect i would rather own a R any day than another evo

Didn't you old R get thrashed by someone? Sad really because it was in a good state when you sold it IIRC.

Yes I traded it in against the evo and the trader sold it as being forged and it wasn't. So the lad who bouht it thrashed it and spun a shell

Very true that ayc and 4.5k service came around too fast, i used mine daily and it was a killer mainly on service's. I sold it and bought my R and a reliable 54plate focus for everyday use.

sounds like you did well selling the evo... mine blew up so i forged engine then after 5k miles it decided the new oil pump would give in and shot the crank!!!

Yes a new oil pump was fitted on build but as stated but the new pump failed and I lost heart in the evo. Yes civic body is all ok for power it's braced in 3 points at rear and 2 in front also all updated suspension and arms. Could do with bigger brakes though to be fair.

shame about the evo experience imo they are a much better looking handling/braking car, than the gtir and newer, just im thinking of saving for a tommy mak one next year around the 9k mark, and this has kind of put me off.

Get an unmolested one and keep it standard ,it should be ok

the evos a good car is stock the handling is good the brembos are good too if fitted with uprated discs as stock ones just warp!!! the engines are ok but very lame power unless running 400+ i wouldnt buy another one unless it was a 9fq in stock condition..
the evo engines have been known for weak con rods and have also known to throw a rod out the block on start up from cold... so if you buying a tommy make sure its been well maintained and is in almost stock condition..
