right ive done a bit more searching and ive discovered that mine has a daughter board with some 'aftermarket' chip soldered in. i managed to find a picture of a standard ecu and mine isnt, thanks anyway :-D

just a quick one,i did try to search but couldnt find one. has anyone got a picture of the inside of a standard ECU? im fairly sure that mine is chipped but i want to make sure its not something from the factory. cheers

its nothing to do with rings or anything internal, its got to be turbo,getting it comp tested tomorrow just to be sure and i have another tip from a member to do aswell, fingers crossed, to be honest im a bit sick of it already and might sell it on soon once its sorted:roll:

turbo still boosts fine, only smokes on idle and its not even that bad, id be suprised if its the turbo seals as its fairly new and has been fiddled with somehow, (has a turbo techincs badge on it)

the first engine, turned out i had a piston ring gone so instead of building one myself i bought one that was recently built and fully forged and had that put in and it run fine, im pretty convinced that its turbo related
