Hey Bobby,

Well this is what I thought could be the case. So I checked to see if there was any play and I couldn't see any, and surely if there was any walk, like you say the engine would have been seriously damaged. Now the engine is stripped down all the parts look spotless, there are no signs of damage what so ever. Will have to get some pictures up to show ya.

joe reckoned there was around 5-10mm endfloat and im sure he wouldnt make up something like that!
you cant tell by looking at it, you need to get measuring implements out to compare to a standard undamaged block and same with crank.

im not trying to put down your sale carl but imagine how you would feel if someone sold you a block and it was out of spec and you had spent a fortune on pistons etc only to fit it all in the car, go through all that work only to find that the crank walked and boogered up all your hard earned dollar.
you learned the hard way with your engine with rich who built it, so im sure you wouldnt want to see someone else go through the same heartache!

if you want to measure it then bring it down to me and il take some accurate measurements for you on those parts

ok bob I appreciate your input, Firstly from what Joe told me there was 1-2mm, not 5 to 10??? I'm not saying Joe made it up, but I looked a it and didn't notice any movement.. and secondly this was the engine that was put together by Elmsleigh engineering, Richard did a totally different lump. Dont you think if there was 5 to 10mm of play then the bores and the pistons would be ruined? the only marks on the bore are the honing marks that Elmleighs left after boring it out ... And the pistons look spotless as I described in the thread. Also dont you remember doing a compression test on all the cylinders? In your own words it had very good compression. You can buy all means look at the parts and measure them if you like, as i'm pretty sure this is the only way I will be able to sell any of it now anyway. I'm also going with the information craig has given me, Dont you think he has taken enough of these apart to notice any defects? I mean how long has he been dismantling these engines for you now? I'm not selling dodgey good as you make it seem, If there was anything wrong, theres no way I would sell them on the fellow owners. So once you've measured the parts and they come out fine, can you put something on here to give anybody who may be interested, confidence in buying my parts?

yeah as i said pop them down and il measure them for you no problem, and craigs not with me anymore btw.

ive not even seen the block im just going by what ive been told from craig and joe, and endfloat wont effect compression results short term anyway.
there should be zero endfloat even if its 1-2mm thats way too much, pop it down with crank in situ and il check it and if its ok then il put up as so on forum

im not being funny with you carl, but as i said its not very nice if it is out of spec and someone buys it and fits it is it?

No that is fair enough, the crank isn't in situ, the whole engine has been stripped. Sorry for maybe over reacting! it jus seemed that some information that you had put up wasn't entirely true. Will give ya a call

Pillar pod and gauges

Have now got rid of most of me bits now!! There are some bits on ebay with a very low starting price that I just need clearing off

I have a twin pillar guage pod with 2 gauages already installed that I thought to good to put on the bay, it was specially made to match the black dimpling on the pulsars interior and cost me £90 new, not including the gauges.

open to sensible offers

Carl
